Spam Protection with Mail Aliases
- Create yourself a safersignup user name, e. g., "bobjones123"
- Now, any time you are asked to enter your e-mail address, invent a new unique address by prepending your user name with a unique identifier. For instance, when signing up on Amazon, you could enter as your address: amazon.bobjones123@safersignup.com. At first, you are automatically reachable under such a new address even though Amazon does not know your real mail address.
- If you notice spam reaching you under any of your new aliases, you can turn it off with a mouse click after logging in on safersignup.com. You no longer have to rely on being removed from a mailing list.
